About me
I am an experienced yoga teacher with more than 1000 hours of teaching regular classes, workshops and holding international retreats. My journey as a yoga teacher began with my first teacher training with Annie Carpenter in Los Angeles in 2014. Since then I have completed more than 500 hours of teacher training with Annie and have become a certified SmartFLOW Teacher. I also regularly train with other international teachers like Donna Farhi and Annodea Judith. I am registered as RYT-500 with the International Yoga Alliance and am based in Bonn, Germany.
To me, yoga is the art of forming a structure, that holds space for physical and mental awareness, exploration and growth.
What students say:
“Catherine's yoga classes have inspired me from the very beginning: Her Beginners Course was a great introduction to yoga for me and, in view of various back problems, exactly the right approach to carefully and purposefully mobilize my body, but also to seek new challenges in sports. Catherine has a wonderful talent to create a protective, non-judgemental space for the whole group, which invites us as yogis to be curious about new asanas and to create a mental break from everyday life. Her precise instructions of the basic asanas as well as basic breathing techniques have definitely encouraged me to engage more with yoga and to go through life with more composure. Thank you for this! “ - Johanna
Movement over Shape Series (Part I-III)
Part I October 31, Part II November 21, Part III December 12
Imagine a pose is not so much a static form but rather a structure that gives space to constant, inner movement…
Each of the three workshops listed below will provide you with a movement principle that can be applied to a certain set of poses. Thereby you will be able to increase stability, maintain mobility and deepen into a safe and sustainable pose. The three parts of the workshop series are independent from one another and can be taken individually. Taken together the three parts reflect how the lower body and the upper body connect.
Movement over Shape, Part I: Legs and Pelvis
Going beyond shape, we will explore the movement principles necessary to balance the work in the legs in order to build a stable and spacious pelvic alignment. Deepening your practice through this discernment will allow you to playfully transition in and out of these poses, as well as master them with more ease.

Movement over Shape, Part II: Core and Arms
What does your core do, when your arms are lifting overhead? We will uncover a movement principle which will guide you with more clarity through basic as well as advanced poses so that you can take your practice to a next level.

Movement over Shape, Part III: Lower Body and Upper Body
What stabilizes your lower body, when your upper body is spiralling into a twist? The movement prin- ciple we will focus on in this workshop, will trace the steps of how to spiral the upper body while safely stabi- lizing the lower body as we move into twists. Thereby we will access the full range of motion of the spine and create a lengthening and mobilizing effect. By building space between the vertebrae and rotating the spine, twists incorporate the center of our body and offer a releasing and unwinding feeling.
